This course is for executives with company spokesperson responsibilities. It teaches delegates how to prepare to speak to the media about the business and issues surrounding it.

  • Setting up interviews: selecting the media, offering your services as a spokesperson
  • Questions and answers: understanding the company line, identifying the main messages and sticking to them, developing Q&As, role play
  • Confidence building: preparing for an interview
  • Physical presentation: what to wear, body language, bad habits
  • Interview practicalities: broadcast terminology, who’s who in broadcast, inside the studio
  • Crisis/ issues: difficult scenarios, tricky journalists, taking control of the interview, introducing positive messages
  • Handling incoming media enquiries: gathering information, interview selection - including when and how to say no, role play
