I'm looking forward to seeing you for Presentation Skills training.
This interactive training will provide you with the opportunity to hone your communication skills, and present the best version of yourself in meetings, pitches and presentations, both virtually and in person. You will appreciate your personal presentation style and learn strategies for adapting it, where necessary. You’ll have an opportunity to practise core skills, such as body language, verbal delivery and active listening, as well as more advanced techniques, including strategic communication, sales language and influencer skills.
Areas covered:
-
Command trust and respect, by finding the perfect balance between warmth and competence
-
Learn how to dial up or de-emphasise your energy levels, according to your extraverted / introverted inclinations
-
Hone vocal delivery – pace, tone, volume and clarity – becoming aware of personal habits
-
Understand how to convey your message succinctly and stick to the allotted time
-
Use persuasive language and structure to land your message
-
Signpost, flag and transition smoothly to the next section
-
Demonstrate expertise and make well-researched points strongly
-
Learn how to practise and prepare
-
Find your own authentic voice as a presenter
See you soon!
Kerry
PREPARATION
Part 1
To help you focus on your individual learning outcomes for the session, please can you ask your line managers the following:
-
What existing strengths would they like you to develop further?
-
What specifically would they like you to improve upon, to make you even better?
You’ll be introducing yourselves with the answers to these questions, so come prepared.
Part 2
Imagine one of your clients has just hired a new marketing director. Your day-to-day comms lead has invited you to meet them for the first time.
We would like you to put together a 3-min explanation of ‘Who we are and how we can help you’. To make it as authentic as possible, you need to have a real client in mind. You are not allowed to use PowerPoint; this is a relaxed, but well-considered ‘conversation’, not a ‘presentation’.
On the day, we will be listening out for the following:
Who we are
-
Have you introduced yourself well?
-
Have you communicated what Clarion does, clearly and succinctly?
How we can help you
-
Have you thought about what the marketing director’s business priorities and interests might be, for this particular client?
-
Have you included at least one relevant example of how you have supported other clients with similar needs?
-
Have you explained the business or reputational impact you had on those clients, in a measurable way?
