ABOUT THE TRAINING
Hi everyone,
I'm looking forward to seeing you for the Taking Meeting Notes workshops.
These workshops are designed to help you record meetings succinctly and in the most user-friendly way possible. The sessions provide clear guidelines on note-taking conventions. They’ll help you to stay in control, capture the most important points and produce accurate, useful notes.
You’ll have plenty of opportunities to practise these skills and receive feedback during the course.
Part 1
The first part will provide guidelines on what to do before, during and after meetings so you can take notes properly:
-
Preparing to take minutes
-
Understanding audience needs
-
Using accepted Rathbones’ minute-writing models
-
Keeping up with fast-paced meetings
-
Clarifying key points, responsibilities and timings
You will use a role-play exercise to practise your new note-taking skills.
Part 2
The second part will focus on the language aspects of notes:
-
Writing succinctly and in plain English
-
Broadening your vocabulary of reporting verbs
-
Using appropriate sentence structures
-
Using impartial language
-
Editing and formatting your work
You will use a video exercise to further develop your note-taking skills.
See you soon!
