WORKSHOP OVERVIEW

Hi everyone,

I'm looking forward to seeing you for the Influence & Persuasion workshop.

This workshop provides the advanced communication skills to be able to persuade and influence internal stakeholders. You will have the confidence to gain buy-in and influence important business decisions.

You will learn how to establish trusted advisor status with colleagues, dealing with challenging situations, confidently and assertively. You will gain valuable techniques for forging strong working relationships with different types of colleagues.

The session involves practical, problem-solving exercises that enable you to immediately put into practice what you have learned.

MODULE 1: POWER OF PERSUASION

  • Use persuasive, influencer language to land your message

  • Build an irrefutable business case, using the NOSE model

  • Pre-empt objections and resistance, building them into your recommendations

  • Use plain English to convey technical messages

MODULE 2: TRUSTED ADVISOR

  • Understand the components of a trusted relationship and benchmark your own trusted advisor status

  • Command trust and respect, by finding the perfect balance between warmth and competence

  • Learn how to dial up or de-emphasise your energy levels, according to your extraverted / introverted inclinations

  • Hone vocal delivery – pace, tone, volume and clarity – becoming aware of personal habits

MODULE 3: AUDIENCE AWARENESS

  • Understand different personalities and what makes them tick

  • Develop awareness of needs and motivators

  • Recognise communication preferences and know how to adapt

  • Appreciate other perspectives and agendas

  • Listen carefully for what’s being said and not being said

MODULE 4: CHALLENGING SITUATIONS

  • Learn how to say no, positively

  • Manage disgruntled colleagues

  • Find your voice with more dominant colleagues

  • Think on your feet
