ABOUT THE TRAINING

Hi everyone,

I'm looking forward to seeing you for Management Skills. Here's a content overview, so you can see what we'll be covering.

Modules 1 & 2: Motivating Teams

These modules teach you how to get the best from your teams. They help you to develop emotional intelligence and to have inspirational, positive conversations to boost performance.

  • Appreciate your natural management style and its impact

  • Recognise differences in others and how they like to be managed; flex your style accordingly

  • Gain a deep understanding of Insights® Discovery and how to embed it into the team culture for long term positive impact

  • Map your teams onto the Insights Discovery wheel, and create a workable action plan

  • Know how to deliver recognition that is heard and appreciated; practise positive reinforcement

  • Understand the difference between intrinsic and extrinsic motivators

  • Discover strengths-based leadership and positive psychology

Modules 3 & 4: Delegating & Briefing

You will come away from these sessions with a clear idea of how to step up and let go. You will learn how to build a culture of ownership and initiative, resulting in improved productivity.

  • Prioritise your time to focus on what really matters strategically (the difference between urgent and important)

  • Understand the importance of stepping up and working at your level

  • Learn to deliver consistently clear, thorough briefs

  • Get to grips with the High Challenge-High Support principles and identify your underlying beliefs

  • Strike the perfect balance between ‘remote’ and ‘approachable’ – managerial, not matey

  • Appreciate how to brief colleagues according to their competence and maturity

  • Check for understanding, provide space for questions and recognise incongruous nonverbal signals

Modules 5 & 6: Performance Management

These modules show you how to get the best out of others by having assertive and constructive conversations about performance. You will learn how to make performance coaching a way of everyday working life.

  • Set SMART objectives and evaluate success

  • Hold performance reviews and identify development needs

  • Diagnose poor performance and the reasons

  • Recognise whether performance issues are ‘can’t do’ (skills) or ‘won’t do’ (attitude)

  • Understand how to structure critical feedback

  • Learn how to use rewards and penalties

  • Create a ‘fearless feedback’ culture, giving development feedback assertively and explicitly

  • Apply the principles of ‘positive regard’ and ‘genuineness’

  • Deal with emotional responses, push back and denial

Modules 7 & 8: Coaching Skills for Leaders

These modules demonstrate how coaching skills are a powerful tool for developing highly motivated, high performing teams.

  • Establish an everyday coaching culture

  • Appreciate the powerful practical application of coaching, in the agency context

  • Know when to ‘coach’ and when to ‘direct’

  • Understand the power of active listening

  • Use incisive questions and clean language

  • Apply the GROW model to encourage non-directive self problem-solving

  • Identify assumptions & beliefs

  • Master the art of summarising and paraphrasing

See you soon!

a) Complete an online evaluator, which will determine your Insights Discovery® type and bring you a new level of self-awareness.

It’s best to give your first natural response, being as honest with yourself as you can be. The evaluator typically takes about 15 mins to complete.

Add this referral code: 550/insert your name/YJ/KS

b) Watch the 30-min video below before attending the workshop.
