PRE-WORK
There is pre-work to complete by Monday 1 July.

In this practical workshop, you will learn all the skills to significantly increase your win rate. You will build the confidence to shape and tell the story, delivering impactful content that really hits the mark with clients and prospects. You will gain a clear understanding of your personal presentation strengths; how to overcome your weaknesses; how to work as a team, and how to give pitches a world class edge.

EXECUTIVE PRESENCE

  • Control first impressions and build relationships within the room

  • Command trust and respect, by finding the perfect balance between warmth and competence

  • Learn how to dial up or de-emphasise your energy levels, according to your extraverted/introverted inclinations

PLANNING & PRESENTATION

  • Know your purpose – what you want your audience to think, feel, do as a result of your pitch

  • Appreciate the differences between virtual and in person

  • Consider the space, choreography and how to command the room; know where/how to sit/stand for maximum impact

STORYTELLING

  • Appreciate the power of stories to connect with your audience

  • Present ideas and recommendations persuasively, using a client-centric framework to encourage buy in

  • Understand how to use the power of three to prepare and frame your storytelling

PRESENTATION PERFORMANCE

  • Understand how to open and close with impact

  • Signpost, flag and transition smoothly to the next section

  • Master the three Vs of powerful presentations (visual, verbal, vocal)

PREPARATION

So that we can maximise the impact of the training, there is some prep to do beforehand. You will need to allocate an hour to do this properly. Bring your laptops with you to the training.

Part 1
Prepare a 3-min presentation (1-3 slides, maximum) of an idea or recommendation that you have already delivered or will need to deliver soon. Send it to Sarah, by Monday 1 July.

Part 2
Prepare a 2-min introduction to yourself and the company for a client, prospect or other stakeholder that you will be meeting soon. Consider any experience, projects and results that might be relevant to them and ensure your introduction is tailored to their needs, interests and motivators.

We will be looking out for:

  • the ability to talk freely around the content on the slides, drawing conclusions and sharing insights about what this recommendation will deliver

  • a sense that you are having a persuasive conversation, rather than reading from a script or list of bullet points

  • an authentic, engaging, natural delivery style
